Fergus pulls a large frying pan from his pack and settles it in some coals at the edge of the fire where some of the drippings from the rabbits can fall into it. Into that natural oil he scatters a few handfuls of greens and wild onions. Soon the meal is ready and he portions out meat and greens to the CoS. As the meal is eaten he places a well used coffee pot into the coals and soon the aroma of a dark roast wafts through the campsite. He pours himself a cup and leans back gesturing to the others to get a cup if they wish.
Your best route is the one you are currently on young Adept. Travel this road for another 6 days and you'll reach the Refuge in that time. There is a small trading town three days from here that you can stop in for supplies if you wish and perhaps a night spent in a bed instead of the hard ground. You and I bypassed it on your way out as you were intent upon reaching the range and climbing the mount. I've seen naught but a bear or two between here and there and not a brigand or thief one. The town is called simply "The Town". The landowner there is a man named Kieren, a successful warrior when younger he claimed the land, cleared it of hostiles and built himself a house with a small trading building nearby. It soon became prosperous and others moved in to help farm and run the trading company. He is a gentle soul now days but not one to be contested. He knows well of your Refuge and will most likely welcome you and your companions. The meal finished and things tidied up Fergus makes his departure. I've things to attend to in the north but I'll set companions to watch for you as you travel. Blessed journey all.
The next few days pass without incident. In three days time the CoS comes to a cross-roads where a small gathering of homes and buildings has set root. The lone sign post reads simply "The Town". Traveling up what must be the main street Opyeen in the lead can see a larger building with actual glass windows set off to the right. The placard has a drawing of a tankard and a knife and fork, obviously a place to eat and drink. Behind the building is a well maintained stable with stacked hay and an alert stable boy who comes from behind the fence to approach the company of riders.
Welcome to The Town all. Perhaps I may look after your mounts and animals while you are here? Master Kieran has an excellent lamb roasting over the fires if you're in mind for food. He also has some well made and lightly flavored spirits to quench the thirst.
