Although it is much lighter the two handed sword must still be swung with two hands. Sorry. The arrow heads do not do more damage or increase your *to hit*. They are however much more durable than regular heads and will survive hitting armor, walls and bone better than normal ones.

(Thats cool. I had to ask. You can't hit the ball if you don't swing the bat. :) )

Those of you that are opting for the robes or leather armor. These items are not lighter in the same way as the solid DBS armor is. The cloth or leather still weighs the same it's just much more protective in nature due to the weave.

While you folks keep an eye on the civic works up above what are your plans for down below. I feel it's time to get you all back in the dungeon for some well earned head splitting and carnage. We'll figure that it's been 10 days that you've been up top so add your armor and weapon choices that have been built by the dwarves, update your character sheets and inventories. Then decide where you go from here. Keep in mind that you have to be within Undermountain for Opyeens ring to bamf you to a chosen location.

As your DM I am itching to script out a combat in which you are using your new gear.

I thought it could take me from the surface to inside undermountain but not the reverse.

I may have misled you. The ring functions only in areas within Undermountain. You must be beneath or within a subset of the catacombs for it to function.

Gear has been gathered and packed, civic works are in progress and the shop and coffee house are doing a brisk business in wares and gossip. With things well in hand above ground the CoS heads to Durnans tavern clad in new armor and with new weapons at hand. After the gold changes hands for passage the company is lowered down through the entry well and soon finds themselves on the floor of the first cavern. Quickly linking hands the erstwhile group is magically transported to an area south of where the falling wall separated Ravoneth from the party shortly after they'd found an honest to goodness treasure chest.

The magical transport makes no sound as it takes them across Undermountain. In less time that it takes to describe it the trip is over and they are at their destination. Looking quickly around the company can see that the wall is no longer blocking the passage although now that they know what to look for they can see it recessed up into the ceiling. Turning south the passage hits a T junction with spurs going west and east. The western tunnel ends in a shimmering black "curtain" that resists all attempts to see through it from this distance. The east tunnel makes a turn or two and ends in a closed and locked door.

It's quite beyond her ability, but Ravoneth will look for the trigger that caused the wall to come slamming down behind her last time. She thinks Mae is best suited for checking out the locked door.

"That veil reminds me uncomfortably of that monster with all the hands we fought down here before." Hermia says, keeping an eye on it.

Mae helps Ravoneth investigate for the trigger of the falling block.

"you suspect it may be a portal?"

Oypeen stares down the passage toward the darkness and tries to judge, from his experience with porting around Undermountain, if he can sense anything that may add weight to that supposition.
