Kallysa responds If you agree to 215,000 for the chest and 16 per pound we'll call this a deal with the caveat that we provide you armor and weapons made from the steel in that chest at no cost to you. Well the first set won't cost you anything but any subsequent orders will be purchased at a fair market value.

Mae whispers something in Hermia's ear. "And my picks, please."

Hermia nods. "Would you be willing to throw in a set of locksmith's tools to replace the ones belonging to my beautiful friend, destroyed by the chest's most remarkable locking mechanism in the process of verifying our discovery?"

We will make a set of tools for your companion as part of the bargain. We'll need her old set and her advice to make them to her specifications though if she has the time to spare for consultation. Shall we seal this deal? The lady dwarf nods to Kallas who opens the keg and pours a measure of the dark ale in mugs for each of the negotiating parties. As one the dwarves raise the mugs and drain them.

Your payment in gold can be delivered in either coin or a note signed through the Waterdavian money lender Mirt and signed to you. Your choice. The armor will take some time, perhaps a week to get you all outfitted. We'll need a list of what you need and measurements will be taken by Kalllismith as he will be creating the items for you with his own hands. Do you prefer a crest upon your armor or would you prefer it left uncrested?

Ravoneth will respectfully but silently toast the dwarves and down her mug as well. She wonders if the CoS will want to stay in Waterdeep waiting for their new gear, or continue their explorations of the Undermountain.

Oypeen slugs back his mug and drains it. His eyes grow wide from the potency and then grins from the excellent taste. "Shazam, that sure packs a punch coming in, but goes down smooth as cool water."

Oypeen mentally calculates his cut of the profits and begins thinking of which spells he wants to learn first. He's gonna learn them all, of course, but he can't do them all at once .

Rykken raises his mug in toast to the dwarves and then takes a big gulp.

"It was a pleasure doing business with you and know that Carnage of Steel are willing and ready should you ever need anything."

Once the meeting and festivities are complete, Rykken will meet with Albert to discuss investment strategies for this windfall.

Mae nearly has to choke back a cough as she sips-- this is some potent stuff! Hermia grits her teeth and chugs, but once the initial burn passes finds it quite pleasant.

While the drinks are being finished and refilled Kallismith goes to the chest and opens it from a key he has in a belt pouch. He begins pulling ingots out and laying them on the floor as his scholar brother does the count and annotates it in his ledger.

The count is 576 ingots. She was full to the floor. says Kallismith. What's the total out of pocket for these brother?

Kallyill does some fast pen work. At 30 pounds per ingot we're looking at 17,280 pounds. 16 gold per pound comes to 276,480 gold for the ingots. Add in the 215,000 gold for the chest and we have a total of 491,480 gold to be paid to the Carnage of Steel. Sister does that sound about right?

Kallysa nods Your count sounds accurate to me. Turning to the companions Friends in arms do you agree to the sum stated by my brother? If so how do you want your payment? We can ferry the amount to you in gold coin by then end of the week or we can submit a voucher via Mirt the Moneylender tomorrow morning. Mirts men will bring the gold to you once we deliver it to him and you exchange the voucher or you can elect to have him keep it and draw on it as you will. He does charge a nominal fee for holding gold though. Either way we have a contract filled out with all but the amount, payment specifications and your signatures in my brothers ledger.

Alfred mentions to his employer that he has a grand idea for a non-profit tax right off that will do wonders for the image of the shop and the Carnage of Steel with the common folk as well as an idea for getting the non working craftsmen up out of squalor and onto a better life. Both of which will turn a great profit with some initial investment. He hints that in this town even non-profit places make a rather large profit via grants from the city and a union of tradesmen is always a money making endeavor.

Oypeen confers with his comrades and says, "If Rykken is in agreement I would like to keep my share of the gold in the Apothecary's vault. It seems pretty stout and it already needs protecting. We can use the vault as our bank and have alfred watch over it. I am also interested in hearing more about Alfred's recommendations for putting the money to good use ... and making a profit while we do some good. I don't like the idea of paying someone to hold our money.

Also, I don't mind waiting out the week and having the dwarves deliver the payment rather than use a middle man. The less people who know of this windfall the better."

To the Dwarves, Oypeen asks, "Would it be possible to get the bulk of the payment in platinum pieces? "
