You'll need a thief to do this, we'll wait for LL to post up with any actions that Mae might take.
Mae investigates the cell. Hermia keeps a close guard on her. "I have a bad feeling about this..."

Hermia switches some of her attention to the adept. "James, don't worry. Stay calm. We're friends. We're gonna help Ravoneth, but we need you to help us do it. Do you know where he would have taken her?"

After he answers, she turns to the kobolds. "Listen up, all of you. Our friend has been taken. We will not hold the treason of that false kobold against the rest of you. Anyone who helps us rescue our friend and avenge his treachery shall have not only their silver, but gold as well, gold of their very own. But anyone who hinders us will only get steel."

Looking closely at the bars and using some intuition Mae finds a movable stone in the wall. Once checked for traps and cleared she opens it up to find a simple lever. Pulling the lever causes the bars to recede into the ceiling.

James straightens up and begins donning the bundle of clothing dropped by Ravoneth as she was taken. I know exactly where they have taken her.

The remaining runts look around rather nervously and as one they turn tail and scatter in differing directions. Of note is that not one of them dropped the coins they'd already been paid.

Oypeen starts to prepare a fireball to cast after them, but after a glare from Hermia he sheepishly drops his hands and say, "Damn it. The little bastards need a spanking."

Hermia turns back to James.

"Can you tell us where?"

You should have promised a lot more silver, not gold! :)

James explains that the beholder is probably going to keep Ravoneth sequestered in his treasure vault. There's an exit up in the ceiling that goes to the surface. I don't know where it goes but I had some time and dug a little shelf near the door and hid a key there. If Rave can make the leap to the ladder and find that key she can get out. Only problem is that I don't know where it opens up. Probably a warehouse or something that they control. I can lead you to the entry way to Hlethvagis rooms. It'll be one hell of a fight to get clear of there once we're in it.

"I wish we had a truth spell because I don't know if we can trust this guy. Still, we must go after Ravonath. She is one of us even if she doesn't think so."

"An entrance on the surface?"

Hermia closes her eyes for a moment, letting herself get her bearings and think about the city above. She tries to imagine what directions the two other surface entrances they've seen would be in relative to her current position.

Once she's sure, she asks James if the Beholder's lair lies in the direction of either of them.

Hermias instinctive cartography aids her yet again. Closing her eyes and concentrating she can picture the surface city above and match it to the dungeons below. Turning towards the two known surface entrances to Undermountain she gets her bearing and asks Brother James about them both. Hmm.... I know it's close. Somewhere that allows the folks down here easy and safe access onto the surface. For some reason when they opened it up there was the smell of herbs and green things. His face clouds for a second. I miss seeing green fields and trees.
