Mae shrugs and gets to work. Hermia gets her longsword ready. Does the door look like something that we might be able to break if Mae can't pick it in relatively short order?

The door looks as if it could be broken down with a few well placed kicks or strikes from a blunt weapon.

Mae gets out her new picks and sets to work. The tools and thief are working well together. The lock however is not and it refuses to open.

I just realized that monks don't have the ability to pick locks, so Ravoneth's help was either cheerleading or Monday morning quarterbacking. :)

"Destroying the door would definitely warn the others that we are coming. Oypeen, can your ring teleport us to the other side?"

(The ring can only be used to teleport to places that the wearer has seen. It cannot be used to blind teleport to a location.)

For the most part i think it can only send me somewhere I have already been, but I am not sure. Since it teleported me to the other side of that blockage in the passageway behind us i think it can teleport us to a point thats very close by. Of course, if i teleport us to the other side of the door there is no floor, then we'll probably fall to whereever the bottom may be..

is there any cracks under the door that can let me peer into the room?

Hmm. I'd forgotten about you getting to the other side of that wall to save Ravoneth ;) . You can look through the keyhole to see whats on the other side.
