Does everyone else know about the orcish muttering behind the door? If not, R will quietly tell them. If so, R suggests opening the door and taking out the orcs.

Hermia easily finds a loose stone to toss. Her aim is true and the stone flies into and beyond the "curtain" of darkness. Nothing happens.
Do we hear it bounce on the other side or does it just 'vanish'?

Oypeen, seeing the party split to go in two different directions will stand at the turning so he can watch both groups at the same time. He is prepared to take action in either direction depending on which group needs it.

Opyeen and Rykken stand vigil at the mid point between the two other groups keeping an eye out for trouble from either direction.
Ravoneth quickly crossed to where the two mages stand and informs them of what she and Mae have heard as well as her idea for capturing one or more of the brutes beyond the doorway before she returns to Maes side.
Hermias stone made a *clink* after it passed through the darkened curtain as if if bounced off of another stone wall. Following up that revelation Giovanni passes his mace through the curtain. His weapon comes up against no resistance at all. Leaning forward to press further he feels a slight chill in his hand as the appendage comes in contact with the darkness. No damage is done, it's as if his hand has contacted nothing more than a chilled mist hanging in the air.

While all this is going on Mae hears more sounds from the hallway beyond and some scattered conversation. New orders from the boss. (this is a new voice, much smoother and more articulate than an orc) The damn dragon is in a hurry and Hlethvagi is tired of dealing with it, find Jay Hand and kill him. We'll find another that meets the criteria for the door. In the interim start our contacts up top to finding a pure and just individual. A female would be better.

Mae creeps away from the door.
"Ravoneth!" she hisses. "I think we've got a lead!"
She then gathers up the rest of the party and repeats what she overheard.

Ravoneth nods, a tight smile on her face. "Let's see if we can capture Smoothvoice to learn even more." She's definitely more interested in what lies behind the door than the murky curtain.

Oypeen listens and then asks, "Do you think they are Orcs. A sleep spell might work on Orcs, but I don't have one prepared. I've been expecting tougher beast down here, the kind that would just shrug off a sleep spell."

"Not sure... I didn't hear them. Mayhaps your web spell?"

"yes, my dear, beloved web. Its so useful sometimes. Doesn't keep them from calling out for help or busting out of the web if they save themselves from the worst of the spell. Fireball is too destructive though so it will be web this time. I look forward to the day my skills will allow me to hold beings in place. "
