far as Oypeen is concerned he is guilty as guilty can be. "If it too much trouble to bring in those two dead workers, we could always just kill james and let our cleric speak to his dead body. Might get some truth out of him then."

Hermia puts on a tough front to disguise how shaken she is by the close call-- though whether for herself or for James is not quite clear. "It would have been the last thing you did. It still might be if you don't play nice," she growls-- at least as much as a 3-foot tall woman can growl.

When Alfred leaves, Hermia goes with him. She contemplates asking him to accompany her first thing in the morning to help procure a wagon, but ultimately decides that the fewer people know what's going on the better, and instead heads up to the room where Mae is still recuperating from the knockout blow.

As for Mae herself, she wakes up during the night with a start, but when she recognizes where she is and feels Hermia right there next to her, she is contentedly asleep again within less than a minute.
