"I will stay where I am ready to cast web at those scorpions if they should choose to attack the diggers and trap checkers."

Opyeen keeps watch while Ravoneth, torn between finding James and knowing she won't survive alone, looks from the southern corridor and back to the remaining members of the team. Mae gets back to work digging and checking for traps as Hermia and Giovanni stand guard. The going is slow as she finds trap after trap after trap on and around the chest. Finally getting it cleared and trap free, she hopes, the lady thief signals to Rykken. The spell hurler begins his casting do Mae, Hermia and Giovanni grab the handles of the chest and lift. When it comes free Rykkens Floating Disc eases under it. Pushing and grunting the three CoS members get the chest on the disc and Rykken is able to float it our and away from the deadly scorpions. The magic user senses that whatever is in the chest is very very heavy. A question to those that lifted it confirm his suspicions.
With the chest out of danger Mae is able to go to work on getting inside. Six or seven minutes pass with no results. Maephina for all her skill is unable to open the lock.

"Well... I've done all I can... should we just smash it? Or try and get back to the surface where we can just take off the hinges?"

Well... I was originally going to move her the ~60 feet the corridor silently, since her move is pretty sneaky. But since Ravoneth hasn't left yet, she'll point out that smashing it while trying to avoid being found by gnolls and not spooking the scorpions might be counter-productive.
Then she'll move silently down the corridor a bit, to get a better idea of what is left and right of the junction. It'll be good to get away from the torchlight a bit.

If we hold onto the chest and to each other we might be able to transport to the fireball room where the ghost knight was.

Ravoneth moves down the southern corridor while the remaining CoS members discuss transporting the chest to a "safe house" that they've recently uncovered. Moving quietly she leaves the torchlight and soon finds herself stealthily alone. At the end of the corridor is a T junction branching east and west. The eastern branch turns south for several feet and then east again out of sight. Returning to the western branch she can see what appears to be a black wall of some sort of mist at the end (B on the map).
Opyeen states that they can probably all touch hands and have one of the members touch the chest and use his ring to teleport them safely to their destination when there comes a rumble and a *CRASH* from the hallway leading South and between them and where Ravoneth has gone. With the CoS coming from one direction and Ravoneth from the other they are stunned to find a solid stone wall has fallen from the ceiling above cutting the adept off from the others (6f).
The Scorpions, agitated at the sudden noise and ground shaking vibrations come out of the sand in an irritated state and position themselves at the very edge of their sandy home.
The noise is sure to bring other things in the direction of the adventuring party.
