One massive claw emerges from the sand dune followed by another and then a long tail with a bulbous stinger attached to it. Fully emerged from the sand is a giant scorpion. Six feet of body with an equally long tail and fronted by a pair if keen edged pincers the beast goes still again watching the company before it.

"Perhaps we can intimidate it by forming a cohesive front!" Hermia says, looming as large and menacingly as her tiny stature allows.

I hate giant bugs! But the chest may be worth the fight.
