Rykken concurs, "Ok. You guys pull it in closer and tell me when to let fly." He will ready his Web spell and wait for the signal.

oypeen steps back from the edge (way back) grabs the rope and starts hauling it in, "Web it when you think you can get it"

Hermia takes a couple steps back and lends her strength to the effort of reeling it in.

Standing off to one side Rykken readies Web and waits for the fish to become a more visible target.

Hermia, Quistine and Opyeen move away from the ledge and begin pulling the line in slowly. The giant gar refuses to come easily and at times the 3/8" silk rope threatens to pull flesh from hands or people into the water. Tense minutes go by as the struggle continues. Suddenly our three fishermen find themselves falling backwards as the resistance on the rope disappears. While picking themselves up they hear a massive splash followed by a quickly muttered final syllable and the sound if snapping jaws. Turning they see a flush faced Rykken standing to the right while to the left stands a similarly nervous Giovanni. Hanging between them, tethered by a complex net of Web and close enough that its massive jaws are inches from Hermia, is the gar. This close up and in the lantern light the CoS can clearly see the hundreds of finger long and needle sharp teeth. Scales, some bigger than a human hand, are as thick as leather and many times as hard. Even where it was hit by Magic Missile there is little damage, of the crossbow bolt there is no evidence it ever made contact.

If its immobile, Oypeen will put an arrow through its eye at close range.

[It's caught in a web, a fish and thus probably barely able to do more than flop around on land, and it can't breathe. So at this point it must be functionally helpless enough to just go ahead and dispatch, right?]

Hermia backs up a little more, almost jumping in surprise as her back touches the statue.

"Oypeen, may I use your spear for a moment?" she chimes.

If the answer is affirmative, she takes it in both her little hands and uses it to probe for the softest part of its head-- if necessary, an eye. If not, she picks up her crossbow and takes aim.

"We used to fish quite a bit when I was growing up. Sometimes we'd even catch gar like this... well, none as big as this. My sister Hippolyta will never believe this one! Anyway, you want to spike them right in the brain--" THRUST!!! (or TWANG!!! as the case may be) "--because the faster and more painlessly it dies, the better the taste. If we want to eat it, that is. Would we rather make it into a trophy? Then I could show Hippolyta!"

Hermia and Opyeen easily kill the trapped fish while Rykken (my assumption) goes back to examining the cavity in the statue.

Since the water is so deep Giovanni, with direction from Quistine, heads out to find out what's glowing in the water. A short minute later he returns with a very nice longsword.

(Rykken do you plan to take the rings before you all teleport with the fish?)

Rykken resumes his examination of the cavity in the statue. "Quistine, the one post looks like it might be some sort of lever. Do you mind taking a look to see if you can make any sense of it?" Providing Quistine doesn't find any traps, Rykken will retrieve the three rings and then be ready to return with the rest.

Hermia puts some space between her and Rykken, not wishing to be on the receiving end of another explosion.
