As giovanni watches Hermia do her magic on the map he notices a small area just above their current position..

I'm referring to the area that is about 40' N and 30' E of where we are at now. Lets just get that part filled in and checked..

Thats good to me, could be a secret door into the pillar room. Knowing where the back doors are is always useful. Before we leave, Oypeen will pick up the helm, then search the body once more, then search the room for secret doors and or compartments. He thinks about picking up the spear head and dragonscale if its in teh room, but if its in the hall he'll leave it there for later.

Yep, that sounds good to me too.
The problem with doing something really stupid to impress people is that they may just be impressed by how stupid you really are.

A quick look around the room reveals nothing else of interest. Opyeen bends and picks up the dragon scale with the spear head lodged in it and is surprised to find that it's very light.
The companions quickly get into their marching order and shortly they are standing in the newest room of interest. Unfortunately there isn't anything of interest in the room other than a sturdy table and four chairs, close inspection reveals nothing hidden or secreted from view.

Oypeen, disappointed with an empty room, sighs heavily after his exhaustive search. Just before leaving and with great hope he looks under the table to see if anything is affixed underneath the table.

A quick glance under the table by Opyeen reveals nothing hidden there either. It seems this is just an ordinary room. Lining up in order of march the companions head south back towards the last room they were in, bypassing the hall of mirrors and the next corridor in line they continue on. Taking a left turn Hermia leads Quistine down a few feet to a door. Running her hands across it Quistine finds and removes a minor trap and upon opening the door the companions see a three way intersection. Having already decided on a course of action they bypass the southern passage, which also seems to branch again before leading off into what looks like a larger room. Stepping around the corner they can see the feet of the dead elf and the door in which they first found her. It seems as if the acid was directed or aimed only at the fleeing female as nothing else outside the room has been damaged. A few feet farther on they turn left into the adjoining room.
The floor in this area is strewn with stony rubble and gray, dust covered cobwebs handing from the ceiling to brush the floor blocking the farther corners from view. The room is dark and silent. The cobwebs are thick and many-layered.
