Oypeen answers, "I have a name, but I am working on getting financial assistance to pay for the lessons."

(I'm going to assume the ladies tell the others what happened upstairs?)

Lianna and Hermia quickly outline the healing process and the expected tithe of 6,000 gp, the year of service to the church or some vague job that needs to be done. Partway through the explanation Durnan steps over to refill the mugs and stays to listen in. As the girls finish the tale he leans in a bit Six thousand?? Either it's overinflated to try to convince you to root out the Ghost Knight or whatever it was that blinded you was a lot more powerful than just a typical spell. Looking around at the group and smiling at their questioning expressions he continues. You heard me right. Ghost Knight. Just a local spook that the church can't seem to get rid of. No they can't seem to turn it either. The story is that there is the ghost of an armored noble with a drawn sword that comes out on certain moonlit nights. Supposed to be bad luck if you see it but according to common people almost anything can be bad luck. Probably looking for his killer or lost girlfriend or horse or something. Who knows with ghosts..... With that he turns to head back down the bar to see to some other patrons.

"6,000?!", Rykken whistles softly. "Don't they know I'm part of the team? As Durnan mentioned I think that's a bit steep. Probably think they can take advantage of some newbie adventurers. If you want to try to negotiate I'd offer them a quarter of that and work your way up from there. Drop my name while you're there and see what happens. This Ghost Knight sounds interesting though. If that is their alternative it could be a good way to 'pad our image' here in town before we head back down. Anyways, I'm off to see about learning another spell. I'll meet you back here later." Rykken will go and meet with Jysteen to see about adding to his spellbook.

Oypeen watches Rykken depart and his lips begin to quiver as he pouts, "Didn't even ask me to go with him," he mutters.

With Lianna and Hermia having agreed that the best bet might be to at least consider the quest for the church they head off, with the directions given by Durnan, out into the streets to find this church that Balmorea is from. A few twists and turns and a misread street sign finally find the pair in front of a squat square building surrounded by an iron and brick fence. The gate is open as are the large double doors leading into the structure. Upon entry the interior looks much like any normal church. Pews down both sides and an alter up front. Incense and other spices set up cloying drafts of differing scents. Up at the alter is Balmorea, the large man is intent upon a book set before him and for a few seconds doesn't notice the ladies approaching down the aisle.

Once they are noticed he makes the cursory apologies. When Lianna reveals that the company has decided to take on the quest instead of paying or serving Balmorea smiles broadly. He is clearly pleased by the decision.

Excellent! Ah Lianna I knew I was right when I deduced that you were indeed leading this company. So shrewd to realize that the best and easiest way to pay this debt is with a simple and short quest. Please follow me into my chambers and we'll discuss some things. He leads you towards a side room, a plain dresser stands against one wall with a large bed next to it. There is a table with two chairs and he motions Lianna and Hermia to them while he begins pacing the room collecting his thoughts. At length he begins..... Many years ago, years...... perhaps hundreds of years ago a young knight apparently fell head long in love with an Elven wizard by the name of Jhaniloth Dhree, an amazingly beautiful wizard with an equally amazing penchant for evil. It is believed that she either killed him or had him killed and he awakes every month or so to search for his killer. We are unable to turn him, unable to harm him, unable to track him. No matter why he returns we need to have his appearances stopped. It makes the church look bad when someone such as myself is powerful enough to raise the dead but am unable to put the dead to rest? If you agree to do this I'll get you a map of the area. Once complete our debt will be settled.

"Well, you know what they say when you got a ghost," says Oypeen. " 'Who you gonna call?' Ghostbusters."

Rykken takes off on a quest of his own. Leaving the others to do what ever it is they do he heads off to find Jysteen and see about some new spells. Crossing quickly though the castle ward and into the merchants quarter he soon finds himself on Herbalists Street. The entire street is a mix of scents both familiar and exotic. Finding his way to Jysteens Tea Shop he makes a sharp *rap-rap* on the door. A few seconds later a distinctly elven voice Coming coming, just give an old girl a few seconds to get there. The door opens Can I help you? Rykken sees long white hair, stunning features, pointed ears and amazing beauty...... wrapped in the skin of that most evil of elven races.... a Drow. (DM note- if any of you don't know what a Drow is I can offer a background on them at a later date, or have Rykken role play the explanation.)

Sturm and Kallas have now tapped the third keg of the day, one of Durnans from the cellar, and are shortly going to be regaling the other patrons with dwarven songs of valor and strength.

While the girls are leaving, Rykken is making a hasty exit and the dwarves are getting ready to burst into song there is a tap at Opyeens shoulder. Turning around he sees a man of average height, bearded and over weight, with quite a few rather expensive bits of jewelry here and there. I'm Mirt the Moneylender. My friend Durnan here tells me you're looking for a loan.

"Mert, my good man," says, Oypeen. "Money is such a minor thing to be concerned about, but it does seem that a great many do concern themselves about it quite so. And I believe I will have dealings with someone like that very soon. Not for myself, you understand, but for the protection of my good friends I find that I am need of more magical learning. You could almost say that it is a charitable undertaking "

"Uh...Uh..." Rykken tries to keep his composure as he looks upon this...this scourge of the elven race. "But if Prydwyn recommended her she must be ok" he thinks. "I'm looking for Jysteen. Prydwyn sent me over for some tea...and possibly more."

((This week on Faerun in Love...))

Lianna nods her head as Balmorea regales them with the tale of the undead knight. "It seems the church does have quite the problem with this wraith-knight. However, if everything you told us is to be believed then how are we supposed to stop it hmmm? We currently have no cleric of our own and I have my doubts about a mortal weapons ability to harm such an undead shade. Perhaps you might know of some other way to lay him to rest?"

Lianna starts tapping her foot while thinking. "What do you think Hermia?" Lianna asks her smaller compatriot.
