((I didn't read the DMs post close enough. I didn't realize that he said just you were down there and not all of us. So in that case, Oypeen is heading down the 2nd rope and is half way down when Sturm yells up.))

(DMs prerogative, if this isn't the way you feel it should go I can edit it.)

As the last member makes the descent Opyeen and Hermia lay out a blanket and set to getting the armored corpse rolled up in it. While Rykken and Sturm keep watch Lianna is free to do a little thief type snooping. Moving down the ramp towards the grate in the floor she can hear the sound of water moving slowly against stone. Not the Gelatinous Cube type water over stone, regular water over normal stone. Looking down past the massive steel structure in the floor reveals the source. Above her head about half a foot is a trap door big enough to allow one person at a time to crawl through. A casual inspection reveals no lock but does indicate a trap of some kind. Using her knowledge of traps and some thiefly logic Lianna soon finds an almost invisible wire running from the corner of the trap door and into the wall near the ceiling.

((wow Lianna is really good at this thief stuff. ;) Work has prevented me from posting often, and its going to get worse here for a week before it gets better))

Lianna will ponder the wire and then report back to the others.

(is it possible to tie a rope to the trap door and pull it open from a distance?)

The trap door opens upwards and appears to be hinged. There is no way to open it with a rope.

Rykken suggests using his Open cantrip from the max 10' distance to try and open the door and trip the wire.

Rykken casts Open on the trap door. Instantly there comes a voice screaming Death! Death awaits anyone who seeks to free her, whether it be Erelar Moonstar or another! Beware, intruder: danger is very near! As soon as it moves the wire for the trap draws tight and with a *pffft-thock*, *pffft-thock* two heavy cross bow quarrels slam into the door hastening its opening. Its odd that the quarrels were invisible until they actually hit the door.

Invisible traps, what will they think of next. Lianna will move forward and re-inspect the area around the door before using her light tube to take a gander down the trap door's hole.

((I believe the trap door is in the ceiling))

Oypeen looks at the small opening in the ceiling and says, "Looks like its one at a time. Not that I want to be first, but mayhap this might be a situation where someone who can see in the dark might want to take a peek before we stick a light up there."
