The rat smoothly cruises over to the generous offering of food from Quander and then zips behind one of the mirrors.

The goblin is firmly intent on whatever it is on the floor in front of it.

I think we should repeat the food throw with the goblin. There is no way he can't know we are here if he's really there, so what can it hurt.

Oypeen tosses a dried persimmon down the south passage.

((Well since no-one really objected... ))

Lianna is going to try and sneak down the hallway towards the "goblin." She will move slowly and quietly and keep an eye out for traps and anything else obviously out of the ordinary. Once Lianna is within 20' of the goblin she will stop and give it a closer look.

I prepare for combat if I am aware that Lianna is crossing a threshold.

(I will point out that so far, people have only ever come into this room. So far, none of us have left it.)

The dried persimmon causes the goblin to glance up at the spot where it landed and then go back to what it was doing with the thing on the floor.


Lianna, after a quick glance at the others takes a cautious step into the hallway and just disappears from sight. Not a whisper of noise is made as she does her thiefly thing.

(To Lianna- The goblin is looking at a normal sized gold coin on the ground in front of it and muttering the same phrase over and over. If you speak goblin I'll PM you the phrase. He's muttering under his breath so it's pretty hard to hear even from 20' out.)

Back in the room of pillars Quander feels a scratching at his boot. Looking down he sees the rat from the other hallway looking up at him. Apparently he's still hungry.

((MM, haha, I didn't think that whatever we did was going to change what the goblin is doing until what we do puts us in a position to spring whatever trap it is the bait for .))

"Quander, my good friend, it occurs to me to wonder what would occur if one were to be quite so bold as to use a bit of food to entice your new friend to walk over that gold coin?"

((She certainly speaks goblin now!))

Lianna averts her eyes from the gold coin and moves in closer. She gets close enough to try and listen to what the goblin is saying. As she does this she pulls her dagger from her boot, and begins to hum very very very softly.

((Oh boy this is about to get fun. That is, if the goblin doesn't hear Lianna padding up on him like a cat.))

Liannamoves in on the goblin, doing her best to ignore the coin. Damn thing must be cursed, she thinks to herself.

When she is close enough she gets low to the floor and starts humming ever so louder. When she is close enough she gently pokes her dagger into the back of the goblins neck while whispering in his ear,

Hello friend, I would advise you to make no sudden movements. Lest my hand should slip.

Of course if the goblin does anything that isn't continuing to sit quietly Lianna will defend herself.

Rykken goes over to the entrance of the western corridor to examine the mirrors. He will not enter the corridor or look into the mirrors directly but he will visually examine them to see if he can see anything unusual about whatever reflections he is able to see. He will also throw a pebble or some other small item that he can scrounge up into the corridor to see if its reflection shows up in the mirrors or not.
