1) Undermountain, the beginning.

Re: Undermountain, the beginning.
as Opyeen looks in on the deceased beast he sees 16' of deep black flesh. Tear drop shaped with three heads and three arms that each end in three forearms and hands. Most hold a weapon. In a sudden realization he figures out that this thing had the ability to attack 12 times a round. Had it survived much longer the combat could have ended much much differently.

Re: Undermountain, the beginning.
(do any of those weapons look special? Any shiny bits stuck in all that blackness?)
Re: Undermountain, the beginning.
Wow, we got it.
I move over to see the beast as well.
A thing of the devil, and no mistake. I wonder if it has anything on it other than these weapons
Apart from that I'm probably too jacked up on speed to concentrate properly so I stand around fidgeting. Is that Oypeen I see, magically transforming into a higher level character? I must be hallucinating.

Re: Undermountain, the beginning.
"My, I feel tougher. Do I look tougher?"
Re: Undermountain, the beginning.
You do look more lively, yes. But that could be the potion. I wish there was something else to fight. I am feeling most tetchy!
Re: Undermountain, the beginning.
"Yes, you do seem to be fidgeting quite a bit there like you need to run."
Re: Undermountain, the beginning.
I jog on the spot.
I don't suppose one of these weapons happens to be a magic mace or quarterstaff does it? Jut asking.

Re: Undermountain, the beginning.
A quick inspection shows the weapons to be mundane and in dire need of maintenance. Nothing else of worth is available.
Am I to assume you all retreat to the Pillar room to rest and laugh about how you cheated death?

Re: Undermountain, the beginning.
"I'm sorry. I wasn't at my bravest back there. Drinks are on me next time we head topside." Hermia mutters, neatly jotting a note about the portal beast on her map.

Re: Undermountain, the beginning.
"Don't fret yourself, my dear Hermia, my friend, my comrade. Its dead. We're alive. No need to worry about how the sausage is made just as long as its served at the table. haha, what what". Oypeen is in a jovial mood. "Did you know that that beast had twelve different means of attack. Twelve. Just go to show that you don't mess with Carnage of Steel!"
Oypeen looks about the pillar room and wonders what it is about this place that kept the beast out. He also wonders if that damn snake is going to animate. He looks it over closely, and then before resting, he wraps a bunch of loops of his rope around the snakes snout, ties a strong knot, then continues around the pillar a few times as well before tying it off. He sees the others watching him with amusement and says, "Pardon me for my brief flirtation with absurdity, but better safe than sorry. Rope is cheap."
