Sturm walks over to the south door and takes the axes down. I know if you're here, that damned cleric can't be far behind. Might not be a good idea to kill him with this trap.

"Why yes, these Bugbears went down pretty swiftly. I found a glowing set of chainmail that I assume is magic, but I have no use for it. Figure it will be worth some gold to the lesser blunderers up in the tavern."

Oypeen looks to Sturm, "Aha, a good one, my fine friend. We don't want to kill our philandering alchemist. The axes were just to serve as a warning bell to alert us to the opening of the door. Wouldn't want to end up like these unaware bears. But now that you mention it, a spike drive into the wall above the door, a rope and an axe might actually do some harm to someone entering behind us. Hmmmm, I will think on this."

As Sturm is moving the axes away from the door in walks Quander our Cleric as if he's taking a stroll in the garden.

"And the court is now complete. Shall we move on to more exploration of this treasure trove of goodies? Does anyone know the value of a keg of fine Dwarven ale? Is this something we might want to send up to Durnan at the Inn of the Yawning Portal since we are still so close?"

Now that the gang is all here, Oypeen returns to the western door and gives a listen while he waits to see what the other want to do now.

Before you do that.. hang on a second!! Sturm digs into his backpack and pulls out a dented tankard. He pries open the lid to the small keg and dips his Tankard into the dark frothy liquid. He then takes a long pull from the tankard before wiping his mouth with the back of hand.. Had to make sure it wasn't poisoned. he says with a lopsided grin.

He uses the bottom of the tankard to knock the lid back on the keg of dwarven ale. I guess we can run this back upstairs.. or at least where the lift dropped us down.

Quander does indeed enter as if taking a stroll. So far the place is not too different from the monastery catacombs. Except for the dead bugbears. I have seen the beasts before, but nonetheless I recoil at the sight of blood.

Zounds, you've been busy already I see. A candle, I think, to keep away such forces from us.

I light a candle and stand over the dead bodies mumbling "Love of heaven preserve us all from injuries, like, these ones sustained by these bugbears for example."

I want to push on and ask the party about the statue room. Every other person to win the lottery must have come this way, yet still I sense that room is not safe. What's that you say? A rat? Was it black, or brown? I have a cure for warts involving a rat's innards. But, it must be black in colour.

Alrighty! The group is at long last assembled. As our Cleric mentioned many have probably come this way before yet for some reason there was still an apparently magical set of chain and a magical sword hanging in this room so close to the entrance well. The keg of ale can be left here or sent upwards depending on what you want to do. Once re-sealed it'll stay drinkable (by Dwarves) for years. Just to get back on track and make sure everyone knows, the room you are in is 30'x50' with the secret door to the south-east. In the north-west corner, on the western wall, is another door. So far no sounds have been heard coming from the other side of north-west door.

I am ready to move on, I just didn't want to leave the dwarven ale without commenting on it. We just had a big meal before coming down so AI don't need the food. Also, I have to assume that the inhabitants of dungeons restock themselves after each exploration party comes down.

Rykken seems quite distracted with his new-found treasure. He continues to walk around drawing the sword and then letting it go to watch it reappear in the scabbard. The others can hear him mumbling, "Hmmmm...by the gods...wonder how it does that...ole' Prydwyn is gonna owe me..."
The problem with doing something really stupid to impress people is that they may just be impressed by how stupid you really are.

Sturm hoists the keg on his shoulders and heads out the secret door to the south. Give me a minute to run this to the lift.

He soon returns to the room, minus the keg..

OK lets head out. Can't hurt to confirm my hunch about the Door to the west.
