if we are talking about hiring mercs to walk in front of us, I am fine with that, but I as a player have never used more than 1 or 2 retainers so someone else can set up our little army and I'll help pay :). Keep in mind Oypeen can only teleport so many of us at a time. I forget what that number is. I'll have to search for it.

I wasn't thinking about an army myself. I was thinking, go back to the tavern and plan out how we're going to do this. Invisibility potions, clairovoyance spells, invisible wizard eyes or invisible familiars to help map, that sort of thing. Or maybe some "move earth" spells to control the battlefield.

A plan that is more than "show up at the front gate and ask for the boss" would make me feel way more prepared.

we aren't anywhere near the eye tyrants lair if I remember correctly. The peeps who drew the northern section of the map for us said it was up there if I recall correctly. Thats why I wanted to come down to the south.

Also, just to make sure everyone knows, Oypeen has 2 fireball spells (6d6) and at least 3 magic missiles that do double damage (2d6). Rykken has an ice storm spell (5d6), 3 fireballs (7d6) and up to 6 magic missiles doing triple damage (3d6). And Giovanni has hold person which is a really nice spell. Its as good as a death weapon if the enemy fails their save.

So the plan is to teleport in, mages nuke everything, and teleport out if things go bad?

I am not planning on going after the eye tyrant at all for a long time. I hope he stays up there in the north (if I am remembering correctly - I sure hope I remember that right lol). I just want to keep exploring the undermountain and see what we can scrape up.

I only said what the wizards have available. I am not speaking for what anyone else might do. I just thought while you fighter types were thinking about strategies you might want to know what the magical peeps can add to the party.

There is nothing stopping us from discussing combat strategies while we explore the dungeons. We've only been down here for less than an hour this trip. I don't want to go back up top for the next two weeks discussing tactics. :)

And of course we have an extra fireball and web thanks to Mae's scroll.

I would really like to find at least one of the mages a wand or staff though, having reliable access to a little heavy artillery would be nice.

Woe I read the description of the Stun and it doesn't say if the stuns stack. Each kick you hit him with was high enough of a roll to stun him. Do both attacks stack so that he is stunned for 2d6 rounds?
I have no idea. If I were in your shoes, I'd rule that they do not stack with duration and he's doubly stunned for the same amount of time. I'm sure the PC would disagree and we'd then take it to general discussion. :D

Jandolar - I don't have anything on my character sheet for XP for defeating the two mercs? Did you ever give us xp for that?
