How does the Ring of Spell Storing work?

I mean can I store spells in it other than the ones I already have listed on my character sheet? It gives me the ability to cast 1 third level spell but I don't even know any 3rd level spells yet so do I have to wait until I level up enough to be able to add a 3rd level spell to the ring?

Blaze I apologize for not being more clear. There are probably spells in the ring now left over from the previous owner (I'll roll randomly to see if and what they are). If you don't like the ones in there then you can "clear a slot" as the owner of the ring while you wear it and then cast one of your memorized spells into it. There is also the possibility of casting a spell into the ring from a scroll but it has a high rate of failure. Now since you can't cast 3rd level spells you can't use that one yet.

A map? I don't want you all to get confused during the course of this thing. I also don't want to waste time trying to redescribe what you saw a week ago if you have to make a hasty exit. So would it do you all any good if I made a "Map" topic here? I'd only add in parts that you've already seen of course. I could justify this almost entirely based on Hermia and her family history of cartography.

Thoughts?

If we go this route I'll gave to find some way to do this. I've never done a map online before.

Something we need to clarify for me. Are you all ok with me posting the (To "character name": description of what "character" sees/hears/feels) after each description? It's my equivalent of "DM to Player cross-table-talk".

Something else. Do you all want a cleric or thief to join our group? I can open up the roster for two more folks and can let the party find them in the dungeon sometime in the near future.
