Boldol has switched to his dagger and shield, and he's in the front, advancing cautiously. Boldol moves to investigate the fire.

Boldol inches down the corridor until he is able to get a better view of the room.

You see a large statue depicting a maleficent-looking creature with 2 large, curved horns protruding from its head. On the floor in front of the statue is a small golden bowl. Elsewhere, there is a roughly hewn table with several chairs around it. There are flagons on the table and the smell of stale beer permeates the air. You see several piles of hay with blankets lumped against a wall.

You see 4 goblins in the room; 2 are asleep, 1 seems to be significantly inebriated, and 1 is rolling some dice against a wall.

"This looks like a job for a sneak. Pebbles, can you take him out silently?"

pebbles can try to sneak in and backstab him. That would savce my sleep spell for later. Just be ready to come in fast on the drunk . then the two sleepers (coup de gras them).

So if everyone agrees, Pebbles will attempt to sneak in and backstab.

Two people should go after the drunk as soon as I strike, possibly with range. And two others, 1 each on each sleeper with melee, and hope to kill them in their sleep.

At any point the drunk notices the sneak, Hrothgar will charge in (no battle cry) and maul the drunk with his maul. If Pebbles is lucky enough to get a silent kill and not get noticed by the drunk, H. will hang back and see if Pebbles can get a twofer.

Boldol keeps an eye on Pebbles in case anything goes awry. If the goblins are within 20 feet, Boldol will keep his dagger and shield at the ready. Otherwise, he'll swap over to his shortbow and notch an arrow.

Mumford will come in only behind the others, trying not to get in their way. He will strike with his staff at any goblins within range.

After some quick discussion you decide that Pebbles will try to sneak in and take care of the dice roller while Boldol will attempt to take out the drunk with his bow.

Pebbles takes a deep breath and then slowly starts inching his way into the room. At one point you're sure that the drunk looked right at you but his glance passes over you with no sign of recognition at all. You reach the dice roller and plunge your dagger deep into his side while managing to cover his mouth with your other hand. Your calculated strike kills him almost instantly without a sound.
Pebbles' Sneak Attack (Dagger): [1d20+5] = 19+5 = 24
Pebbles' Damage (Dagger): [1d4] = 3 x 2 = 6

As soon as Boldol sees Pebbles strike, he looses his bow. The goblin staggers as you release the arrow but it still finds its mark. He topples over the table and lands on the floor, unmoving, with an arrow sprouting from his side.
Boldol's Attack (Short Bow): [1d20+5] = 7+5 = 12
Boldol's Damage (Short Bow): [1d6] = 5

With the two awake goblins taken care of the rest of your party rushes the room and dispatches the remaining 2 sleeping goblins.

As you stand there in the aftermath of the attack, you think to yourselves, "That just seemed too easy."

OOC: I've fixed the map link and added it to the Player Aids thread.
