Re: Chapter 2:Taking the Offensive
pebbles will start bashing away at the false wall. If we have an elf, they need to search for secret doors.

Re: Chapter 2:Taking the Offensive
Sorry, here's an updated map.
From here on I'll put a link in my sig along with your HP so it's always handy.

The problem with doing something really stupid to impress people is that they may just be impressed by how stupid you really are.

Just to make sure I'm reading that right, the closet has a door on the north face and an open passageway far on the south wall?

Re: Chapter 2:Taking the Offensive
The 20' x 30' room is technically the 'closet' and then it narrows to a corridor to the east with the door on the north and then the corridor turns south after that.
(Would you prefer that I detail the exits/passageways/etc. in my posts or just update the map?)

Re: Chapter 2:Taking the Offensive
(Either is fine with me; neither had me thinking it was a closed room).
Sanz will look down that south passageway.

Re: Chapter 2:Taking the Offensive
That was the only description of the room. I don't see how you can assume anything else but that its a closed room unless there is a secret door.Blazeguard wrote:Boldol retrieves his arrow and cleans it off before returning it to his quiver.
Sanzaru does not sense any evil in the vicinity and follows Boldol into the room.
Pebbles pokes through the straw piles and comes up with 10 ep. On his way out he scoops up the bloody bowl.
This room appears to have been a small storage 'closet' at one time. There are a couple of broken crates in one corner but not much else.
As Alena crosses the doorway the statue emits a low howl that rumbles and echoes down the corridors.
In my opinion, two of the most important parts of a room description are size and locations of any other doors/exits/windows. Well, along with whether or not an arrow is flying at your head.

Re: Chapter 2:Taking the Offensive
Fair enough, Hyway, point well taken. I apologize for the lack of communication. From now on, I will make sure to include all exits in my descriptions.

Re: Chapter 2:Taking the Offensive
Thanks.
I've always enjoyed mapping when playing at the table and early on when I started playing online live games, but that takes a skill that many DMs just don't have anymore. The ability to accurately describe a room with the location of the door you came in, the size of the room, the locations of exits as well as describing hallways and their turnings, just doesn't seem as important when you game on virtual tabletops where you just pop the map up on a screen.
I took pleasure in finding that my map, drawn from verbal descriptions only, would have passages link up perfectly even though the part I am linking to was drawn many game hours before and from a different direction than I am moving in now. When a passage didn't link perfectly it would bug me to no end and I would obsess over my map until I found where I went wrong . I know, i am a sad case.

Re: Chapter 2:Taking the Offensive
Sanzaru peeks around the corner and sees a corridor stretching as far as his darkvision reaches (60'). He also spies a door on the west wall just at the periphery of his darkvision (50').Woe wrote:Sanz will look down that south passageway.

Re: Chapter 2:Taking the Offensive
Boldol has got Sanzaru's back.
OOC: Yep, that room was a little confusing because of the mixture of saying it was once a storage closet and not mentioning an exit. I had assumed it was just a closet and was about to backtrack, prior to seeing the map. I don't know if I would per se describe every exit, but the obvious and visible ones would definitely help.
