"Umm, right. Well, nothing like that." Mumford says sheepishly.
"To tell the truth, ah, My spells are more fit for the stage than the battlefield. Are these seasoned troops we're going against? Are they superstitious at all? Maybe I can put on some sort of diversion."

With dreams of drugs and gold floating around in his head, Pebbles sets out to track down the town spy.
Sprinkling a few ales and coins around the tavern, he discovers the location of both Gwion's and Ian's houses. Flipping a coin he decides to stake-out Gwion's house the first night. The night passes uneventfully and just before sunrise Pebbles is getting ready to leave when all of a sudden he spots Gwion exiting the house. Gwion is loaded up with fishing gear and heads out of town towards the river. Gwion does not appear overly cautious and Pebbles has no trouble tailing him out of town. As Gwion nears the river though Pebbles notices that he seems to be getting more and more agitated and then he stops and stashes his fishing gear about a half mile from the river. Pebbles finds a copse of trees on a small hill from which to observe.
In a few minutes he sees a goblin come into view and Gwion spends the next several minutes in an animated conversation with it. Unfortunately, Pebbles is not close enough to hear or even see what they are saying but he has no doubt that this is the spy. Once the conversation ends, Gwion heads back to his fishing gear and then continues on to the river.
Confident that he has seen enough, Pebbles heads back to town to collect his reward and let the others in on what he found.

It is just past sunrise when Pebbles gets back to town. As you enter the tavern the aroma of potato flapjacks and sausage assails your nostrils. The room is already mostly full with the breakfast crowd and the din is already starting to grow.
You see Eryl sitting at the same table he was last night and the rest of your companions are clustered around a table on the other side of the room. Kerrywyn gives you a quick nod as he rushes around taking orders and dishing out food.

I go to my companions and tell them what I discovered and to accept my elven weed. I suggest that maybe we can leak some wrong information to the spy and set up a trap. perhaps that one or two of our scouts will head for the river crossing and look for sign or maybe set up a stakeout point and watch for bad guys crossing. Instead the whole party plus maybe a townsman or two will go out instead and set up an ambush.

Belle slides a small pouch across the table along with 7 gold coins and a smile. Remind me never to bet against you again.

Belle puffs on her pipe after the meal. Hmmmm I wonder if we could convince Gwion to give out some disinformation for us? I mean we really have him by the balls at this point. He can deny all he wants but one or two little well placed rumors by our resident snoop will have the entire town howling for his blood. And we can tell him just that to get him doing what we want. Belle puffs a bit more and orders a round of the darkest ale they have. Pebbles my dear be careful of that smoke weed. It'll put hair on your non-elven feet. She then leans across the table to Mumford and offers her pipe. Here. Take a little hit off of this and lets talk about your magic. Earlier when we spoke you said you were more of a stage magician. Do you mean Illusionist?

OOC: If you do decide to go after Gwion let me know what information you are going to dispense to him and how you plan to 'convince' him.

"One thing about a traitor -- you never can trust them. He's not going to turn sides just out of the goodness of his heart. Even if we threaten him, he'll still look after his own skin and do whatever works best for him." Sanzaru takes another sip of his ale. Has he been nursing that same ale all night?
"He doesn't know we know he's a traitor. Rather than giving him the choice of doing the right thing, let's feed the misinformation to him and he'll do exactly what we expect."

"What is it that we want him to tell the goblins, anyway? I lost track last night, between the ambushing at the ford, ambushing here in town, and attacking the raider camp."
