"Patience like the mountain of Anvilar." He says with a smile. "Stay safe, milady."

Sanzaru readies his battleaxe and after a short prayer, enters his sentry post. He'll spend the time practising the ward his justicar taught him to detect evil before it approaches too close.

The party sets about making camp and setting the trap. The top of the hill is roughly rectangular in shape and is about 50 yards wide and 150 yards long. The end closest to the river is clear and flat while the other end has a slight rise to it and is covered by small trees and brush – a perfect place for the archers to set up their ambush.

Belle settles in for her first night’s watch. Several hours pass and she is just about to get up and stretch when she hears a rustling coming up the slope.

Belle is going to slowly get into a kneeling position so she fully draw her bow and she'll pivot around to face the noise.

OOC: Just curious because I have the least mobility -- can Sanzaru see Belle's change in posture and the direction she's moving to?

Pebbles, stufling a yawn, just barely sees Belle's movement and the drawing of her bow. He looks briefly in teh same direction she is looking to see if there is anything obvious and fast coming up the slope, then he moves his vision to do a 360 search around teh slope for anything moving that may or may not be making noise.

Yes, I will assume that as part of your strategy you will have placed the signal fire in such a way so that you can see Belle and a good portion of the clearing facing towards the river.

OOC: Thanks!

Sanzaru notices the change in Belle's posture, but other than a slight narrowing of his eyes, the giant mound of dry wood doesn't show any indication that anything is amiss.

OOC: I'll wait for whatever is amiss to show itself. I'm sure I'll see it before I detect it. However, if my 'detect evil' goes all spidey sense on me, I'll probably stop lounging around and do something slightly heroic.

Belle has just finished drawing her bow to full stretch when out of a clump of trees at the edge of the clearing comes a wild boar. It pauses for a moment, sniffing the air, and then starts snuffling and pawing the ground.

Sanzaru does not sense any 'evil' in the area.

Round 1
Belle Initiative: [1d6+2] = 5+2 = 7
Pebbles Initiative: [1d6+3] = 3+3 = 6
Sanzaru Initiative: [1d6+1] = 3+1 = 4
Wild Boar Initiative: [1d6] = 2
Mumford Initiative: [1d6-1] = 1-1 = 0

Belle being a Druid will try and gauge the boars intent, try to figure out if it's hostile out of spite/fear/etc or just doing it's nightly foraging. While doing this she'll also keep her ears tuned for anything out of the ordinary. She'll not relax her bow draw for a couple of minutes or until there is no perceived threat. If a threat does materialize (boar or something else) she'll acquire her target and fire.

Peebles will maintain his perimeter vigilance assuming that Belle, and sanzaru if needed, can handle the boar. If things get real dicey there he will break cover and help out, but the boar might have been driven into open by approaching bad guys.
