Unforunately, you are unable to convince any of the militia to accompany you so after lunch you head out of town towards the craggy ridge. You don’t see any sign of Gwion and you take extra precautions to make sure that you are not followed.

It takes you slightly over an hour to reach the foot of the ridge. You are just about to start heading up the hill when you notice signs of activity.

You see several mounds of dirt beside corresponding holes randomly scattered around the foot of the ridge.

Pebbles indicates that we should park the horse under the cover of the trees and scout a little closer to see what this is all about.

As you cautiously advance you see several mounds of dirt and several holes approximately 3’ wide and 3’ deep located randomly at the foot of the ridge.

As Pebbles scouts around he discovers a shovel and burlap sack near one of the holes.

Belle chews her hair for a second. I wonder what the holes are for? They aren't big enough to be graves for any future "accidents".

Pebbles can distinguish at least 5 different sets of booted tracks. They appear to be going in at least 5 different directions. He stoops and examines the holes. As near as he can tell the holes appear to be freshly dug, probably last night.

are the holes randomly placed or is their a pattern. Can i tell if anything was dragged away from the holes? So the booted tracks are all from different individuals. are any of the tracks joining or departing from each other at any point (as if they were together coming or going at some point)

To the others, Pebbles says, "This is an odd occurrence to say the least. I suspect someone is looking for buried treasure. Either their own and buried when drunk, or heard about it and just got teh general area."

From Belle, Burlap bag, a shovel and a bunch of holes right in the path that we are taking that seem to have been dug recently. It can't be coincidence.
