Let's equip light and go see what we're in for. If we're going to get all fancy with luring the bear out, we'll need to plan for it (which means better intel). If we are going to go for the brute-force shootout, we won't need a lot more gear unless someone wants to buy a siege weapon. I'd say some rope (which we probably won't use) and day rations would be all we need for a day trip.

Filibert puts together a shopping list for the following items:
3 vials of oil - 3 sov
Torches (6) - 1 sov
Rope (silk) - 10 sov
Tinderbox, flint and steel - 3 sov
10' pole - 1 sov
Rations (1 week) - 10 sov (we can distribute these among the group)
Does that sound ok to everyone?

Looks good. The cave isn't too far away anyway.

Let's get some waterskins too. And I think it might be cheaper if we don't buy the rations and instead have Bertha pack us some lunches.
The Storehouse

With a unique (and very secure) stone-made and pyramid-shaped roof, stone walls and a single brass-bound door, Apple Lane's Storehouse is said to have never been robbed. It sits on South Street, next door to Gringle's Pawnshop and opposite the Tin Inn. Within it are tools, foodstuffs, liquor, seeds, cloth, blank parchment and paper, and just about any other common trade good that Squinch, the proprietor, thinks he can sell to the villagers, travellers, or farmers. Although he comes across as aloof and artificially wordly, Squinch has a reputation for being a fair bargainer.
"Hello," says Squinch rather stiffly as you enter through the brass door on the morning following your meeting with the Sheriff. "How can I help you?"
The Storehouse features prominently on the cover of the Apple Lane module - you can see it quite clearly nestled between Gringle's and the Inn ...

"Hiyas Squinch. Here's what we need, and two small sacks to carry them in". Elena then shares the list with Squinch.
Let's go for a wall!

OOC: +1 on the waterskins. Packed lunches sound a lot more appetizing than dry rations, but maybe we should bring both?

"Yep, you're right. I'd love a nice MLT: a mutton, lettuce and tomato sandwich, where the mutton is nice and lean and the tomato is ripe. They're so perky, I love that. Squinch, forget the rations for now. We won't be gone that long. We'll get our food from Bertha."
OOC: Wouldn't it be funny if instead of a quick jaunt to the cave, we actually end up spending a few days away and need to forage for food? Then again, I can't remember the last time I packed a week's worth of food when I went on a hike. Usually it's an apple, a luna bar, and water. And occasionally, 50' of rope, a 10' pole, and a full quiver of arrows.

The storekeeper visibly flinches under Elena's over-familiarity. "That's Mr. Squinch to you young lady," he chides.
Frowning, he takes Elena's list and busies himself with gathering the items in a ruthlessly efficient fashion. In under a minute, every single request is sitting on the counter in front of you. "Right ... oil flasks, 3 off, check. Torches, 6 off, check. Rope, silk, 15 meters* off, check. Tinderbox, flint and steel, check. Pole, wooden, 3 meters, check. And sacks, small, 2 off, check. That will be 19 sovereigns altogether please."
*I don't know why, but RuneQuest seems to have a preference for metric measurements!

Without missing a beat, Elena thanks Mr. Squinch and then puts the equipment into one of the sacks. "Time to go find Bertha!" she says and heads over to get some lunch and snacks, whistling on her way out.
OOC: I assume whoever has the sovereigns will pay
Mr. Squinch.
Especially OOC: You're a mean one, Mr. Squinch. You really are a heel...
