Unable to get a bead on Elena, Filibert will take another shot at Targus.

Targus will command the Spiritual Hammer to attack Filibert and also cast Magic Missile at him (if I can indeed do both things).

According to the spell description for Spiritual Hammer (p32, BFRPF rulebook):

- The maximum range is 30' (Filibert is currently 80' away).

- You need to actively direct it, which I'll take to mean that any action other than standard movement will cause it to be dispelled.

Dang it. Ye Olde Hammer is going to go away then and I'll just cast MM.

Targus's Magic Missile - target percentage = 63%. Targus rolls ... 100 - fumble!

Somehow Targus scrambles a crucial part of the incantation. The missiles leave his figure tips as normal but then, at about half-distance, they perform an abrupt U-turn and head straight back at the dwarf (11 damage).

Targus falls, a victim of his own spell. He's whisked out of the ring for healing leaving just Filibert, and perhaps Elena (no one's quite sure). Dronlan ponders as to whether he should declare Filibert the winner ...

Filibert will yell and rush towards Elena, trying to distract her.

Much to the surprise of serveral onlookers, particularly those immediately behind her, Elena finally reappears on the far side of the circle opposite Filibert. Wasting no time, she immediately attempts to cast Magic Missile at the halfling ...

Target percentage = casting skill (65%) + INT bonus (10%) + spell difficulty (-5%) = 70%. Elena rolls ... 09 - success! For 10 damage.

Yelling, either in anger or pain, not even Filibert's quite sure which, the halfling dashes towards Elena.
