Filibert takes aim and fires his crossbow at Marcus again.

"This is really not going well." Marcus thinks as he scrambles to get on his feet, at the same time trying to put Targus between himself and Filibert.

As poor old Marcus struggles to regain his footing, Filibert looses another bolt ...

Same chance to hit as before, i.e. 22%. Filibert rolls 95 - miss.

Filibert's bolt goes whistling over both Marcus and the crowd. Up on his feet once more and breathing a sigh of relief, Marcus manages to adjust his position so that Targus is between him and the deadly halfling.

I guess Jandolar is busy relocating, so to keep things moving I'll assume he'll have another swing at Marcus with his battle axe ...

Same chance to hit as before, i.e. 21%. Targus rolls 19 - hit! For 4 damage.

The axe bites through Marcus's leather armour and into the fish-man's left side, opening up a second wound. The crowd winces at the blow.

The crowd chant the halfling's name, trying to cajole him into charging across the ring to engage his two much larger adversaries.

Master of ceremonies, Dronlan Swordsharp, taps his foot impatiently ...

Elena drinks another of Filibert's beers, hoping that will motivate him into a berserking frenzy.

Marcus, now bleeding profusely from three nasty looking wounds, finally falls under Targus's onslaught. Dronlan immediately calls a brief halt to the proceedings whilst Jarsten and Navarok haul Marcus away to have his wounds treated by Kareena. When the circle is clear once more, Dronlan declares "Fight On!"
