Thanks also to Bumblepig for the heads up on Claudia Nice. I saw that she has a number of books on Amazon. Which one are you using?
Drawing in Pen & Ink (First Steps).
Thanks, and all the best with your drawings. I look forward to seeing them here!

The skeleton with butterfly wings is awesome. Cool concept and design. Keep it up!

Agreed, it will be in the next FG3 release. 8-)
I like the florans themselves; the trees and background would need more work and details.

In reference to this all that'd take in my opinion is some light outlines to define where the trunks are in your background. Maybe some shapes to express some foliage if you want. You already got most of the work done and the right idea with how you executed foreground and background. Art teacher told me you want high contrast, heavy blacks and whites for what's close to the viewer, softer contrast for what's further away. If that's at all helpful.

Agreed with burgerbabylon; def. not too much detail around the florans, lest they get lost in it!

I somehow missed these comments... thanks for the tips!
Actually, I don't know why I bothered so much with the background on the Florans, seeing as many if not most of the Field Guide illustrations just focus on the monster.
So, maybe the lazy approach might work here.... In the attached version just increased the contrast and removed the background entirely.
I do want to learn how to draw trees, but it's not essential for this monster entry.

I like these without the background. Keep drawing, Bumblepig! Can't wait to see where you go.

You put in a lot of detail. Must of taken a lot of time. Good work.
