Colin's Fantasy Drawings

Post by Colin the Bard »

Hello everyone! I've really been enjoying playing Basic Fantasy recently and thought I'd get in and submit some art. These are some character and monster portraits I've been doing for ink warm-ups. Enjoy!

Also, these aren't for anything specific. I should check the 'Art Requests' topic for specific needs right?

Colin, these are great. I'm sure Chris and Chi will find a home for them. They definitely deserve it.

Also, are these inked traditionally? Looks like a brush pen to me, but let me know. I love to talk shop.

Teaman, yes they are. I use a watercolor brush and either Higgins or Dr. PH Martin's India Ink. I use fineliners on things like the Fortune Teller's tattoo and some of the fine details. I'm all about talking shop :)

Great work, especially that owlbear.

The brush gives inking such character. Have to get back to my inking, been working on the pencil rendering more lately. Also, when you scan them, if you add a duplicate layer set to "Multiply", you can get them really dark as well. Your's look great, just wanted to share that tip that has helped me a lot.
