The primary tool I use for photo and artwork editing is the Gimp: www.gimp.org
It's part of the standard repositories for most Linux distributions (i.e. you can install it from their software manager) and there is a good version available for Windows as well.

Re: Ye Olde Illustrations
Francisco, are you available to do another piece for us? The Equipment Emporium could use two page-width, low-height pieces, probably 2025 x 600 pixels or so; one would go somewhere in the Weapons section, the other in Clothing, but neither piece really has to be "relevant" to the area where it appears; they just need to show well-equipped adventurers doing something adventurey, aka fighting, sneaking, arguing (okay maybe not that one). I'm extending this same invitation to Zaozabob; if each of you does one piece like this for EE, we can wrap this puppy up.

Okay. Let me read it to get inspiration, do some thumbnails and I'll message you when I got something. Also to coordinate so that we don't draw for the same section.
I got some free time today.

Okay, here are my contributions to the Equipment Emporium (or wherever they may be needed). First up is an old helmet and sword that can be used just about anywhere.

Next up, is a trio of adventurers as they head to a dark and (probably) dangerous castle.
Please feel free to crop and re-size the images so they fit with the project. This was fun and hope the pieces help.
