Fingers were safe, as it took 2 hands to lift the thing.
Can't say the same about harvesting gun powder from gun shells.
Got lucky there.

I was in Boy Scouts with a kid who made a trench in the dirt, so that he had a line of gun powder going to a pile of gun powder. He thought it would sizzle slowly toward the pile as he leaned over to light it. Probably lucky he only lost his eyebrows.
