I knew I'd love it. It's looking excellent. Chrysogon claims to have 'photographic' memory (which I now realize needs to be rephrased in the text) but I think the book might still be a good way to communicate what's happening in one glance. But even with his vantage point and intent stare, I can see his mind working as he watches them.

Anyway, great work. His look is perfect; particularly the intensity of his facial expressions. You're nailing it!

Todd, I have pulled that image. BTW it was a color image... we don't do color interiors, so I wouldn't have used it anyway.

Sorry. I thought I'd read somewhere that you convert colour to greyscale.

If I can. But that's a pretty bright image, which would tend to come out kind of "dirty" looking. So yeah I might have used it, but probably not.

Which image are we talking about? Maybe I have a BW version of it.

As I’m trying to sketch out the cover, I realised I need to pin down the look for Willow and Blossom first.

Here’s my test sketch for Willow. I’ll likely do a better drawing with her holding her shield and mace to go with her entry in the book.

Hi Gabe!
  • I loved the vibe for all 3 characters in the first drawing, which you've carried over here perfectly.
  • I slightly favour the headshot with the hood up, but that armour and mace is brilliant.
  • The look in her eyes on the drawings on the right are hauntingly beautiful. I cannot look away from it. They tell a story about the life she's lived.
In conclusion: Wow. Just wow.
