Oh! I thought you might help me out on this one... I choose the second one (colored monsters) for being a compendium and not a story...

I agree. Color Monsters as the focus for a Monster Compendium.

That said, keep both images on hand. The other image where players are focus (color) would be nice on a module/adventure or otherwise in an area where PC/Characters are the focus.

? Perhaps one of our intrepid adventure designers can create an adventure with a specific focus on monsters from this Field Guide and this companion art piece would be the perfect cover for that adventure... they would go hand-in-hand so to say.

Great stuff regardless. I think everything you have shared here can easily find a place to be featured.
Is it really the end, not some crazy dream?
