OOC: if the kobold is unarmed (and the group affirms the decision), Galen will give the so-called "club" he had to the Kobold. (since no one seemed to take interest in it from my previous posts).
The kobold graciously accepts your length of wood, then totters over to Muddle, and extends a hand:"Ertu nok tik ark Gurugrach grana, bitte? Ekta tulmak "Toonie" rand."
As the group lines up, Galen whispers to Muddle, "the trinket that looks like a two-headed coin seems to be his. Gurugrach, he says, and rather politely." Galen cocks an eyebrow, "but then again, I have never met a Kobold before."

Muddle looks confused as the Kobold jabbers at him, but nods in understanding after Galan translates for him. He pulls out the trinket, points at it and then at the Kobold with a questioning look on his face. If the Kobold shows a friendly acknowledgement that it is his, then Muddle will touch teh trinket to his own holy symbol, say a prayer to chase out any evil from the item then hand it over to the kobold.
If instead of friendly acknowledgement that the coin is his the kobold acts aggressively in demanding it back, Muddle will point the crossbow at the Kobold and demand that he move away.

Methinks Smoot mighta hit the wrong button there.

As you touch the symbols together, you feel a strange hum, like the universe just struck a chord of flats. Odd. The Kobold accepts his icon graciously and patiently, then gives you a wicked grin. He grabs his club and takes up position, sizing up the cook's kneecaps.
Going upstairs:
The cook trudges up before you, and gives the door a hard yank. As it swings open, you see the doorway faces into a corner.Turning left and moving into the room, you get a look at the kitchen. It's a fairly large room, nearly the same as the cellar below, and obviously meant for doing a lot of business. Sadly, it does not appear to have seen much business, as the racks and bins are broken, and all but bare. The center of the room is dominated by a large table, scattered with various implements of kitchenry (or torture), a few unfortunate root vegetables, and a lot of pungent herbs. A few battered pots and pans hang from the walls. A variety of benches and strange iron contraptions line the East and South walls.
On the opposite (West) wall is a huge fireplace, with a large chunk of some sort of animal roasting on a spit placed to one side. A huge vat of unimpressive grey mush sits adjacent. There is a door to the south of the fireplace, and a fair amount of noise from behind. The North wall (to your right) has a large double-door, with an equally large trapdoor in front of it (You've seen this one from below). The South wall has several windows, all crudely boarded over. Through the gaps, you can see daylight.
The cook points to the double door on the North wall "That takes you straight to the stable yard. Stables are up a bit and to the left. Should be a door there to bring ya back in by your stuff. Fair enough?"

"What's behind that door?" Selene asks the cook, pointing at the door by the fireplace. She moves to listen at the double doors at the North wall.
OOC: Merry Christmas everyone!

Saeloria strides over to the cook and begins muttering under her breath and tracing strange shapes in the air with her hands. After a couple of minutes she looks the cook in the eyes and reaches out and touches his forehead with her index finger. "Should you happen to have a change of heart once we leave, know this. I have just warded you such that if you even think of aiding anyone who would pursue us, be it by words or actions, a disease will wash over you the likes you have never seen before and IF you survive you can kiss your wenching days good-bye!" She gave him a final cold stare and then moved over to the double doors. "Why don't you open it a crack and see if the way is clear?"

"Main room, where most of the lads are. They'll be wantin' to eat soon."
Listening at the door, you hear a horse snorting, and a rustle of leaves.

The chef flinches at the touch, then looks down and shudders. As he reaches to open the door, he stops for a second and thinks. "Wait a minute, curses leave a tingling sensation..."
Uh oh.

From behind the cook Muddle casts the spell 'ignite' just behind the cooks neck such that he feels the tingle but not the full on burn.

Selene looks expectantly at the cook, sword at the ready.
