Saeloria quickly casts Close on the door and then yells, "Let's try to keep him alive. We need some answers."

Selene steps away from the stairs to get a better look of what is going on. If she has a shot she throws the dagger at the remaining guard.

It will be firing into melee, do you want to risk it?

Selene tries to aim the dagger but with all the confusion finds it difficult. She lowers the dagger and instead goes for Tieg's short sword.

Yes.

Saeloria dashes forward through the cell and opening (carefully avoiding touching anything), and comes skidding to a halt at the base of the stairs. With a word and a gesture, the cellar door slams shut, blocking the chef's retreat. (roll) With Saeloria's shouted request, the chef drops his nasty cleaver and raises his hands in surrender.

Smiling at the turn of events in the group's favor, Galen moves to add another threatening figure to the chef's attention. He thinks to himself, "these new companions have some merit", and then he says, "Nice work!"

MUddle looks to make sure no one was aiming a weapon at him then begins reloading the crossbow. His eyes dart around the room for anything of value that hasn't been snatched up yet.

"You, Chef!" Selene shouts. Waving the shortsword she motions him to come down the steps.

So nobody's gonna just kill him, eh?

I believe you'd snatched up the cheap jewelry, money pouch, and random holy symbols already. Nobody has bothered with Tieg and Snoot's bodies, if you wish to search them.

The chef-guy , hands up, walks slowly down the steps, taking particular care not to step on Tieg.
