Muddle moves through the group to the door, checks it for traps and if none or found and removed, will attempt to pick the lock.
The door looks perfectly safe.

The tune is quite catchy, and your hands make quick work of the lock. With a click, is opens.

Spear at the ready, Hamish steps forward to open the door, allowing time for the thief to step aside, of course.

Hamish starts to wave the thief aside but is surprised to find that the thief has already moved behind him.

Selene thinks it best to step out of the way quickly as well. She will follow behind Hamish and Muddle.

Rather than trying to get a bow-shot through a doorway that all his friends are gathering around, Galen instead switches his tune to a strophic battle song (bard song +1 AC for all companions within 60'). If his companions move through the doorway and clear views open up, then he intends to switch to his bow to assist that way instead (remains to be seen).

Hamish opens the door, revealing a small, unlit room. The threads of sunlight from the other room provide enough light to see that it is no more than 10x10, with a single door on each wall. The hardware on the door looks to be a finer brass. The door opposite where you are standing has a small plaque. It is too dark to read.

There is a dark shape - about Muddle's height - in the right rear corner.

Keeping his spear leveled toward the dark shape, Hamish says, "Step forward and be recognized."

Secretly, he hopes it is some sort of creature... he'll feel pretty stupid if it's a pile of dirty clothes. But Hamish does not feel like taking chances.

Saeloria hangs back still visibly disgusted by the condition of the rooms. She will wait until Hamish identifies the potential threat.

As Hamish prepares to enter the room Saeloria suddenly hisses "STOP!! That's a table with a lamp on it in there, but I fear that it may be a trap. The wick is set to light, possibly rigged to set off a small explosion. I suggest we proceed with caution."

Hamish frowns and steps back. "A trap, eh? Not my expertise."
