Chapter 1: Wherein the Protagonists Meet at an Inn

muddle looks at the mao, "Nice, I know where we are now." he puts it away, looks to make sure that Selene sees him, and then goes up the stairs to find out what the rest are doing.

Saeloria motions to Muddle to bring the cook along. "Can you tell us what exactly is behind each of these doors and do you know anything about this bent latch?" she asks.

Muddle goes back to the kitchen to get the cook, muttering, "this better not cause dinner to be late or burnt." He shudders at the thought of burning things. Assuming the cook acquiesces he brings him upstairs.

In Muddle's esteemed opinion, it's stew. Whatever he's doing to it, it'll probably be better off without him.

The cook follows along dutifully, and blanches slightly at the dead bandit upstairs. "Them's the old rooms, ma'am. Lads shack up in them." He points to the one with the bent latch. "That one there makes it easy to get to the roof. Good for keepin' a lookout. Latch was bent when we got here. As for that one, That's the door to the big rooms. Red an' Pavol an' Dimas sleep back there, 'an whatever guests we have. Besides you folks, obviously."

"Interesting. Shall we have him open the doors then?"

"Aye, lets see if there is anything useful in these rooms, or clues about what these gents are up to" remarks Galen. He proceeds to open one of the smaller rooms to look in.

The first door you open reveals a room that's seen better days. There was a bed here, but it is now mostly a jumble of wood and torn bedding. Four bedrolls are sprawled out in the room hapazardly.

The smell defies description.

Selene prods the cook to open the door with the bent latch.

"Aye, lets see if there is anything useful in these rooms, or clues about what these gents are up to" remarks Galen. He proceeds to open one of the smaller rooms to look in.

Galen takes a moment to kick through some of the debris (and especially the areas around the bedrolls) for anything of note... if nothing is discovered, he will head to the next appropriate door.

Muddle stay at the top of the stairs watching down into the room to make sure we aren't caught unawares.
