Chapter 1: Wherein the Protagonists Meet at an Inn

Hamish holds his position, waiting for someone to hit with his iron bar.

A shuriken suddenly appears in Saeloria's hand while she maneuvers into a spot that affords her a clear shot out the door, should anyone (or anything) appear. She will also make sure that she keeps the cook in sight as well, should he suddenly have a change of heart.

Selene slips through the doors.

Slipping outside, the scene is much the same. The stable building is about 20' to the west, with a 10 foot covered path between the stable and the inn. There is a door leading into the stable building here, and opposite it there appears to be a door back into the inn.

Looking further north at the stable, there is a large opening about 30' down (obscured by the wagon from your initial view), leading into the stable itself. a pair of hitching posts, and the stumps of several more, line this side. you can catch some large shadowy movements inside the stable - too big to be a person. There is a crossbow sitting by the entrance, but the owner is nowhere to be seen.

It looks to be about 3pm.

He comments, "perhaps we should make haste to our gear?!"

Saeloria cautiously follows Selene out the door trying to locate their equipment. If she is able to see it, she makes a beeline for it and gathers all her stuff together.

Your equipment does not appear to be in the yard, or in the passage between stable and inn. Both the door to the stable, and the door leading into the inn are closed.

"I've got an iron bar. We can make short work of either door, I'd wager. Which door do you want to try?"
