Selene opens the door. And surveys the room. If nothing seems amiss she will enter.

Opening the door, Selene sees nothing amiss. Which in and of itself is strange, given the condition of the rest of the place. The room is a neatly furnished and appointed chamber, with three beds (two opposite the door, one alongside), in good repair and properly made. A trunk stands at the foot of each bed. A dresser with wash basin is here, as well as a table and four chairs. The windows are even somewhat clean.jcm wrote:Selene opens the door. And surveys the room. One thing that does catch her eye is a wall hanging over what appears to be a travel altar. It's a small black banner bearing an 8-pointed red star.
The kobold looks inscrutably at Hamish for a moment, takes the bread, then wanders off towards the stairs, shaking his head. He is looking for Galen.Solomoriah wrote:Hamish tears off a piece of bread and hands it to the kobold.

"This looks interesting" Selene calls out to everyone, and no one in particular. She walks in.

Galen makes his way to where the party is heading.
"Indeed", remarks Galen, who also notices the Kobold trying to get his attention. [Goblinese] "Eh?, something to share?"jcm wrote:"This looks interesting" Selene calls out to everyone, and no one in particular. She walks in.
Is it really the end, not some crazy dream?

Selene is not struck by lightning or sets off any traps entering the room.SmootRK wrote:Galen makes his way to where the party is heading."Indeed", remarks Galen, who also notices the Kobold trying to get his attention. The Kobold gives Galen the bread. <"Here. Food. So when are you leaving? I don't want to be here when the others get back.">

Saeloria examines the altar to see if she recognizes the related deity or the purpose of the altar.
The problem with doing something really stupid to impress people is that they may just be impressed by how stupid you really are.

"That star again." Selene mutters under her breath. She makes straight for the trunk and examines it.

The altar is a basic "travel altar" - An oversized wooden case that can be opened up to stand as a small altar or podium. The inside has several compartments for holding ceremonial accouterments, texts, symbols, etc. You've heard of traveling priests carrying these when they go out to preach or convert.Blazeguard wrote:Saeloria examines the altar to see if she recognizes the related deity or the purpose of the altar.
The altar top has a small bowl of hammered copper, the bottom stained by unknown residues. The body of the altar is open towards you, and you can see several clay pots sitting in cubbies, four glass vials, an ornate silver-handled dagger, and two scroll cases.
You are not aware of any groups that use this as a primary symbol, at least not from those at courts, or in your readings.
There are three trunks - one by each bed. They all stand open and appear empty.jcm wrote:"That star again." Selene mutters under her breath. She makes straight for the trunk and examines it.

Selene checks the trunks if they are truly empty. If so, she will examine the scroll cases, if Saeloria hasn't done so yet.
