Chapter 2: The Journey to Lakeford

Re: Chapter 2: The Journey to Lakeford
Galen sings quietly for a bit before turning back into his bedroll:
The other day
I met a bear
Out in the woods
A-way out there
He said to me
“Why don’t you go?
I see you ain’t
Got any Bow”
And so I ran
Away from there
But right behind
Me was that bear
Ahead of me
I saw a tree
A great big tree
Oh glory be
The nearest branch
Was 10 feet up
I’d have to jump
And trust my luck
And so I jumped
Into the air
But I missed that branch
Away up there
Now don’t you fret
Now don’t you frown
Cause I caught that branch
On the way back down
The moral of
This story is
Don’t talk to bears
In running shoes
That’s all there is
There ain’t no more
So what the heck
You singing for?

Is it really the end, not some crazy dream?

Re: Chapter 2: The Journey to Lakeford
Oleg proceeds to cut some meat from the second bear. "No point letting it all go to waste..."
With the camp resettled, the rest of Selene's watch is uneventful.
Muddle takes his watch, with Racht for company. The kobold is not the greatest of conversationalists, what with not speaking Common. At one point, Muddle hears an ominous whooshing sound, and would swear that a large shadow passed over the stars, but nothing comes of it.
Hamish's watch until sunrise is uneventful.

Unless anyone stops him, Oleg starts a fire and starts cooking a little breakfast for the party.
What are your plans for the next leg of your trip?

The smell of breakfast cooking rouses Saeloria. "Mmmm...smells good. I'm rather famished after the excitement last night. We should eat quickly though and get moving again. Who knows who or what may have been alerted by our skirmish last night."
The problem with doing something really stupid to impress people is that they may just be impressed by how stupid you really are.

Selene likes the idea of a quick breakfast before moving out.

Hamish likes the idea of breakfast. Moving out is okay too, after he eats.

Muddle wakes and says his prayers and prepares his sould for the days events. He then gets his gear packed up and once he is ready to go he gets some of that wonderful breakfast he'd been smelling. Afterwards he is ready to march on.

Everyone fed and readied, the party is ready to move. Bill points out a couple of game trails. One leads further south, away from Grenwood and the bandit base. The other cuts eastward, heading towards the road that runs south to Lakeford. Which way do you want to go?

Re: Chapter 2: The Journey to Lakeford
Saeloria ponders a moment and then pipes up, "I say we take the one heading directly south. The bandits will probably monitor the road to Lakeford because it's easier which will give us maybe a day or two head start before they realize what's happened. Plus this is still heading towards Lakeford somewhat anyways." She looks around to see what the others think.
