Clay Golem error (errata) in 2nd edition?

Okay, so I just got in my print copy of Basic Fantasy from Amazon (the book looks great, by the way!) and I noticed something odd in the Monsters section.

"The damage a clay golem deals doesn’t heal naturally, and
magical healing cures only 1 point per die rolled (but add
all bonuses normally)." (page 82)

Is "deals" supposed to read "is dealt"? The latter seems to make more sense to me, as being made out of clay rather than flesh would cause it to heal slowly (for the purposes of a magic-user keeping and healing one for later use). Basically, my question is: Is that passage supposed to refer to a player character's reduced rate of healing, or to the fact that the clay golem doesn't heal normally?

(I noticed this in both my latest printed copy, and in the latest PDF I downloaded.)

I believe it is referring to the damage that the golem deals to the player character. At least that's how I read it.

Yes, it means the wounds inflicted by the golem do not heal normally. Something that appears in other editions of the creature.

Indeed. Clay Golem wounds are cursed.
(I also use this in my own games instead of level drain.)
