You mentioned pregens so that answered one of my questions. Which BFRPG version, 2E or 3E? Is any of the supplements going to be used in the game also or is it just going to be straight core rules?

Re: Playtest Club
count me in if I have the chance. Going to post the day and time here? Is it going to text based or video and/or audio or all the above?

Don't worry I will have even more questions as time passes.

Re: Playtest Club
I am looking more at a free flowing game night without any restrictions. Its just a place to show up and play without having to be in a long term campaign. I am thinking one shots mostly where people can test out a supplement they are working on, or help playtest the modules on the download and showcase pages. Think of it as going to the local gym on a particular night and joining a pick-up game of basketball. Or if there aren't enough people for a full game you play HORSE, which in our case might be just running an encounter to test out Combat options or the Cleric supplement.
I was waiting to see how many people showed interest and then having everyone submit the top 3 days/times they would be available. Then pick the one that was most convenient to all.

I think if we are testing modules we should probably stick to Core Characters..

Re: Playtest Club
Why? Do you think people will only use core characters with the modules. I don't see any reason to have any particular rules for this venture. Its not work. Its play. With the side affect that some of the work on the Downloads and showcase lose the playtest tag.
Also, I don't see this working without at least 10 people saying they would be interested in this. Its a drop in when you can and play kind of thing so only a small percentage of the people taking part might be there on any given night.

Re: Playtest Club
Well if you are looking at game balance you want to play to the lowest denominator because the person playing the game may only be using the core rules.. I want to know if a Level 3 thief, cleric, fighter and wizard skates through my module or gets their butts handed to them and adjust the encounters accordingly..

Re: Playtest Club
If that's what you want then you specify that when you run your module.

I would definitely be interested.
The problem with doing something really stupid to impress people is that they may just be impressed by how stupid you really are.

Re: Playtest Club
If pregens are going to be used then who ever is running that particular module will have the say on what is going to be used by the way they create the pregens so that deals with what rules and supplements are to be used. The next thing is if the game will be text only or voice / video or is that going to be up to the person running the module also which means is it going to change from GM to GM?

Re: Playtest Club
I like to at least use voice. Video isn't necessary, but if the people there want to they can. You can do just audio, while others do both. Also, unless things have changed you can only have one DM to a game so if we do this we'll either need to create a General account for a GM and just share the login and password between the GMs. Or we could have one room set up as the general meeting room and bullshit session, and each person who wants to GM can have their own gameroom that people will go to once we figure out whats what for that night.
Re: Playtest Club
Is the playtest group still looking for players? I'd be interested in helping as well.
