To be clear: Are you asking to have the Downloads page content hidden until you choose a category? I don't think I'm willing to do that.

no, just an index somewhere, you could just leave everything as it is and put just an index button that if selected would open up the list as shown before... there is really a lot of things to download and I think an index could help...

OR

labels/tags could be used, e.g.: adventure, core, class, quasi-class, .....

Ok Since we are on the topic of the website

On the main downloads page, on the right side where there are the black navigation boxes, add a Showcase link (easy)

Then, I think something similar (for the categories) on the Showcase page, along with a link back to the main downloads page (in spot congruent to the link I mentioned for the main downloads page).

Then... I think it would be awesome if those little navigation panes floated down the page so it was always visible on the right (probably a little more intensive programming trick there, maybe javascript).

So how does one become an approved author with Showcase Powers?

If you already have something on the downloads or showcase page you probably already are authorized. If you haven't, just work on something in the workshop forum until it is "complete" and ask Chris to port it over to the showcase page for you. He'll then choose whether or not to give you authorization to post your own material to the showcase.

Much appreciated, thankyou Hyway.

Hyway has it pretty much right. If you want a Showcase account upgrade, send me a work you believe is worthy, and I'll review it. (If you've got it in the Workshop, point me at the thread.) If I agree, I'll put it in the Showcase and upgrade you.

If one of your works is there already, and my name is on it, it just means I couldn't connect the copyright statement name with your handle. Clear it up for me and I'll upgrade you.

My 'Basic Fantasy Questing' is already there. My 'Combat with Floor Plans' is probably now complete enough to make the jump from the Workshop.
