Good to See some BFRPG love

Post Mon Jan 21, 2013 7:52 pm

I came across this from Erik Tenkar's blog 'Tenkars Tavern'

http://dorkland.blogspot.com/2013/01/ba ... -game.html

Its funny because Erik just posted a blog about the best OSR RPGs for the returning gamer and I threw some props to BFRPG there too.. I said the Core Rules, Morgansfort and the Adventure Anthology..

I would toss in your Dragonclaw also as a good setting to restart gaming with.

Erik is also doing a dungeon contest on his blog using some of Dyson's old school maps. I decided to enter using the Troll Chasm map. To win the grand prize you are supposed to use the large map but I don't have time to design an adventure that big..

I propose we return the favor by releasing JN2 on Lulu.com on the 31st. I believe all the proofing is done, and the layout looks solid, so if no one has any objections, that's my plan.

LAST MINUTE ARTWORK... there are a few places in the manuscript where a small bit of art might fit in perfectly. If I get appropriate artwork before the 31st, I'll integrate it into the document before the final Lulu.com release. Here's where art pieces would be welcome:

Page 9, lower right-hand corner (or upper right-hand corner; other corners might cause flow issues)
Page 11, across the bottom, would need to be a short, wide piece
Page 13, lower left-hand corner (or upper left-hand corner)
Page 17, lower right-hand corner (or... you get the idea)
Page 23, lower left-hand corner
Page 32, lower right-hand corner
Page 46, across bottom of page
Page 48, lower left-hand corner (monster pic)
Page 49, lower right-hand corner (monster pic)
Page 50, lower left-hand corner (monster pic)
Page 51, across bottom of page (big one)

I do NOT expect to fill all these spaces, nor do we really need to. But I have yet to turn down a nice art piece that fills a space in a layout.

I'm glad that we've been able to give some attention to this game. I put up my next post about the game (this time talking about some of my favorite supplements that the community have generated).
