Solo is doing a fine job of being the host of the material (as well as being generally the author (loosely as it was a collaborative effort in part)), as well as being a great steward of the material, by keeping the integrity of the core rules intact and safe from modification (sometimes in spite of the efforts of others).

Somehow, if he 'tired' of the game or of the hosting/maintenance aspect of it, then I am sure he would pass on such burdens to others... but there is no sign of that.

And, even if Solo became somehow jaded, guarded or even pulled the material completely (as would be his right)... it all is OGL material (within certain parameters). All it would take is a new effort to re-write the materials all over again, and there would be a successor to the game (with a new name, site, etc). I am sure it would all find a new home.... not that any of this is even on the radar for the foreseeable future.!

Setting up a "keep BFRPG Alive in case something goes bad" fund is not something Kickstarter does. Kickstarter only allows projects with a hard lined final goal.

As for the idea that BFRPG needs a new edition, that's poppycock. Even with the few pages of errata that go with the game, I feel there is no need for reorganization or a new edition.

As for something to put into stores, I would love to see a slightly expanded version of the starter kit. Maybe a 15-20 page booklet that covers character creation and levels 1-3, some GMing basics and directions to finding the full game, all of it packaged with a low-level adventure.

Adding the errata to the corebook will end on a more 2.0.0.1 edition rather than on a 3Ed.
And the errata is so little that most people could just take the .odt and add them.

Any monster art in particular you are looking for? I would like to help.

I also wouldn't mind trying to update the dwarf art, if it pleases the court.

If you like to do monsters, pick up the Field Guide: http://basicfantasy.org/download.cgi/Ba ... ide-r2.pdf

There are just loads of things that could use some artistic expression there. Go where your creativity leads you.

Any Core Rules monster not already illustrated would be welcome.

Ack. No, sorry. The four character race portraits were all done by the same guy, and I intend to keep them all as is in the Core Rules.

Not to say I wouldn't take a dwarf picture I could use elsewhere, of course.

hhahah I'm a marketing major. As far as keeping it going I plan on dong exactly that. I think that some growth would be nice though. Also I'd like to see the spells in the back of the rules. It makes it difficult to GM sometimes. My ONLY complaint.
