Continual Light/Light: Make a Death Ray ST or goes blind.
Telekinesis: Death Ray ST to cancel spell
Web: Save vs Death Ray or gets entangled
Save vs Death Ray to avoid Becoming Lost

I can understand the "if you fall on the pit you die, so save vs Death" thing, but none of the above cases deals with immediately death...
Sorry for any misspelling or writing error, I am not a native English speaker

Well, as I've said, Death Ray is a sort of a catch-all. The name is just traditional.

The name may be traditional but I'm not sure it is all that well known.

Might I suggest creating a dictionary with all the BFRPG terms. The index does a good job at this but it may be helpful to put all the terminology in one place.

It seems that this thread has turned into a discussion about saving throws. Maybe I should open a new thread named "What should be a saving throw?" or something like that.

I think people need to be aware that certain terminology can mean different things to different people. A lot of this just has to do with the different styles of D&D like games that different people have played. ;)
