Neanderthal?
When I saw this, I thought it would be a perfect monster for D&D, or just about any other game where you might have a wilderness adventure. It could also be an alternate picture of a Yeti/Sasquach. How would you stat this thing?
Re: Neanderthal?
It does look a tad scarier than your run-of-the-mill Caveman image.
Is it really the end, not some crazy dream?

Re: Neanderthal?
All they really did was take a standard Neanderthal, switch his nose to a simian nose, and called it done. All the rest is fluff.

That and the black sclera. That's what really drives them into the uncanny valley. (moreso than the red iris, even). They've been reskinned with gorilla features.
Hunh, the new face of Orc, perhaps?

Re: Neanderthal?
I would base a Neanderthal-inspired humanoid one of the greater primate monstrous humanoids/demi-humans, like Carnivorous Apes.
Characters:
Himamura Jin (Night Wizard; Level 6 Great One/Level 1 Caster)
Benjamin d'Aide (BFRPG; level 5 cleric of the virtue of Sacrifice) - recurring hireling turned pseudo-DMPC

Re: Neanderthal?
That was sort of my idea on this one. That could easily be an Orc any day of the week. Instead of the pig snout, you simply go with the simian nose. You could even go with the elf ears instead of Chimp/Gorilla ears to give it even more eccentricity.Joe the Rat wrote:Hunh, the new face of Orc, perhaps?

Re: Neanderthal?
Had a friend in college (my evil twin... long story) who was cooking up a setting where the usual goblinoid races were alternate primate descendents. baboon orcs, lemur kobolds, that sort of thing.
