Goopy Critters
Okay, so this question won't work as well as a poll. Presently the goopy monsters are all in one section in 4E, namely the Jelly section:
Jelly, Black -> Black Pudding
Jelly, Glass -> Gelatinous Cube
Jelly, Green -> Green Slime
Jelly, Gray -> Gray Ooze
Jelly, Ruddy -> Ochre Jelly
We can use the traditional names, but if we do I'd probably need to break up the Jelly section.
How do you think we should handle them? Keep them together and give their old names in parentheses:
Jelly, Glass (Gelatinous Cube)
Break them up? Something else?
Yeah, I could have made this a poll but there may be options I haven't considered.
BTW: The Ruddy Jelly will be an Ochre Jelly again one way or another.

Re: Goopy Critters
I would break them up and try to match the presentation of the original game.

Re: Goopy Critters
I think I'll leave the generic "Jelly" description even if we break them up; kind of like the Undead descriptive block.
EDIT: That must be in the Handbook. Though I did that in the Core Rules but I guess not.

Re: Goopy Critters
I like the grouping. So my vote is we go with the jelly names with the old names in brackets.

Re: Goopy Critters
I prefer keeping them together like this, but it will be hard for people to find them searching by old name unless you put short listings in the alphabetical order, like:
Gelatinous Cube
See: Jelly, Glass
Re: Goopy Critters
I'd say leave them like they are, with their non BFRPG names in parenthesis behind them it was always mildly annoying for the goops to be spread out all over the place anyway.
You could extend it as well and add the non BFRPG names for all the renamed ones in parenthesis as well

No matter where you go...there you are

Re: Goopy Critters
Having them grouped is a nice and intelligent change, keep it. If you want to add a secondary name, as it seems it will a thing with other creatures, do it.

Re: Goopy Critters
Keep the jelly section! In my random encounter tables I made for myself, I have always grouped all "jellies/oozes" in a single entry. With or without paranthetical names is where I cast my vote for that.

Okay, so for once you guys are all agreeing with me.
... you're planning something sneaky, I know it!
ANYWAY. This is what I see as the lineup:
Jelly
Jelly, Black (Black Pudding)
Jelly, Glass (Gelatinous Cube)
Jelly, Green (Green Slime)
Jelly, Gray (Gray Ooze)
Jelly, Ochre
I'll add crossreferences for the old names:
Gelatinous Cube
See Jelly, Glass on page X
