Name of the Game

Here's my random thought - how would folks feel about renaming 'Basic Fantasy RPG' to 'Solomoriah'?

I think it would be a nice nod to the creator, plus make 4th books easily identifiable.

I personally like the current name.

Of course, Solomoriah's work is very imporant, and I'm grateful to him for creating the game. But if we use his nick as the name of the game, it might create an impression that this is a personal game of one person. And it's much more than that.

I feel one of the greatest strengths of Basic Fantasy is that it's developed here, with the community. Solomoriah certainly handles the basic rules, but even with these there have been great people who helped to check the SRD text. And this is even more true for the supplements. All the development happens here, open to people's suggestions. And people can download editable ODF and edit it.

I feel that the suggested name change will downplay this feature. And I feel like it's a great thing about BFRPG.

Also, Solomoriah has created two systems, BFRPG and Iron Falcon. If we're naming systems according to the author, both deserve this name.

Seriously, the power of Basic Fantasy RPG isn't me, it's the community. The only part of that I'll take credit for is inviting them and giving them a place to create stuff.
