Speaking of Dracula like, I would like to address how a Vampire converts it's prey. The wording in the monster description for the vampire is very similar between BFRPG and the Mentzer Expert Rulebook. Specifically, it says a character slain by a vampire rises undead under control of the vampire. It also just stated that it's bite was the slower attack, so the vamp would prefer a weapon so as not to be at a disadvantage.
Did you see the connection that doesn't make sense? Per the description, a PC/NPC that was slain by a vamp's sword would become a vampire themselves. That is not typical vampire lore-ish, and I really think the "turning" should only happen if bitten to death. That said, it could be just the final kill, say the vampire bites when the player is nearly dead and isn't fighting back.
Thoughts?
