Pre Made Characters for game sheets?

Post by Legendmaker »

As a new GM for Basic Fantasy, I was wondering if there are any pre-made 1st level characters sheets in a PDF or other ODT format so I can just print and play right away ?

There is a PDF of 3rd level PCs available, but no real 1st level PDFs. You have a couple options though...In tools you could use the NPC Party Generator to create a group of adventurer...it is more in the form of a stat block but it does equip them with armor and weapons. The other option is to download the Morgansfort PDF, the last page has 8 pregen 1st level PCs. Do the same with The Chaotic Caves (13 1st levels) and you have a decent starting stable...If you want to check the tools section you can also roll up individual PC with the PC generator but it isn't as quick and convenient.

Cool.

I note that the spell lists don't include Read Magic.
You consider it innate?

Not exactly "innate" but as written in the rules, all magic-users know it and they can all prepare it from memory, without a spell book. So no need to write it down.

Well, the rules actually say "it can be prepared even if the Magic-User loses access to his or her spellbook." From that my take was that it's in every spellbook.

Not that it changes anything.
